An Idea To Consider

A rose from an Anniversary bouquet on February 2nd.  : )  It smells just as good as it looks!

Well..........what can I say?  I'm probably confusing you so much by this time - on again, off again, somewhat off again, etc............!  : )  The reason I am writing this today is because I have been given an idea on what to do about my blog AND like the above title says, I am considering it and wanted you to know.

The idea was given to me about doing a once-a-month blogpost.  In thinking it through, I realized that blogging IS something that I do enjoy and just out of habit alone I found myself going into the computer room and writing ideas down and then reminded myself that I wasn't doing it anymore.  I realized that those of us who like doing this kind of writing, well, we do it not so much for us as we do it for others who enjoy reading blogposts and may get something from them.  At first I kind of counterpointed that in saying that I really don't have anything that thousands of other bloggers haven't already written about but sometimes maybe I do?  I guess only you, the reader, would be able to tell me that.

In my past blogposts, I tried to keep saying that we are all different in our homemaking and yet, at the same time, we all have a lot in common too.  It's that commonality that brings us together, isn't it?  We all learn from each other and it's actually fun to encourage each other when we feel a bit down or feel like we just can't clean another drawer or cook another meal!  We can all relate to that, can't we?

So..........here I go again and I totally get it if you are rolling your eyes right now and moving on!  LOL  The idea of a once-a-month blogpost is something that I want to begin to think about - how that will look is, of course, the thing that I will have to think through - will it be at the beginning of the month looking back on the previous month; the end of the month looking forward to a new month; the middle of the month  with just checking in kind of thing, etc.

I have three more weeks left to think this "idea to consider" through.  : )  In the meantime, I wish you well and thank you, once again, for stopping by.  God bless.

A very well-known verse from Proverbs 3: 5 & 6 - it came to me this morning and I wanted to share it with you as well.  If we trust in the Lord and give it all to Him, He will let us know what He wants us to do.  : )

  1. Hi Mary~

I really like the idea of blogging once a month. I am trying to post something once a week, and it's hard! My blog is my journal, since I'm not very good at keeping one. But, ultimately, you need to do what feels right to you. Love that scripture in, Proverbs, it has helped me through many decisions, and I know it will help you through this one

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

    1. Hi Barb! I know what you mean about our posts being our journals - like you, I'm not good at keeping a written one. Thank you for the encouragement of a once a month post and I will encourage you in your once a week post!!!! I know it's a lot of work but it's a blessing to many. : ) And, yes, we all have do what we feel is best for the time we are given. I, too, love the Proverbs verse - isn't it great to memorize verses in the Bible that just come to our minds when we need them? God is good! : )

Have a great upcoming week, Barb, and thank you for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.
      A hug to you!

  3. Great idea. Allows you to share ideas and thoughts without being overwhelmed.

I usually have one day every few months where I get the urge to write...many times it is notes to myself...and then I determine what, if anything, I want to share. I create posts but don't post them. Then I add to them until it's a post I like and want to share. Then I schedule them. I will also go back to old posts and add to them... applicable Bible verses, books or movies, or other thoughts. Because you never know when someone may read it.

That's the great thing...we are all so different in how we choose to do things. Some people can just write and post. I can't do that. I think that's what you've done in the past, right? But from notes you jotted down.

Whatever and however you choose to do it, I'm sure I will enjoy it. Sometimes when I'm feeling all alone I like knowing that others like you and Christine are doing similar things in your part of the world and that I need to continue to do so in my sphere as well.

    1. Hi Janine! Thank you for your insights and sharing how you do your posts. : ) I think I'm a little of both - sometimes I like to sit down, write, and post. Other times I like to think things through, write, edit, write again, post. I know that any difficulty I might have is self-imposed. I mean I'm not meeting a deadline or anything like that, so I just need to relax a bit and write what I love to write about. : )

I, too, enjoy reading your posts (including Christine!) and quite a few others that just makes me feel like we're all in this together even though miles and miles away from each other.

Thank you, again, Janine! I appreciate you dropping in and giving me a little boost.
      Take care,
      Mary

  4. I have been spending time lately reading your past posts, as I am a recent follower. I truly enjoy your blog. I do not have my own blog, live in the middle of nowhere almost, and with terrible internet service that doesn't meet the specs for facetime, zoom or streaming of any kind really, I can find inspiration, encouragement, wonderful tips and ideas following blogs of like minded people. The decision for you to continue blogging, or how often is totally yours. Prayer will help you come to a decision that is best for you. Just know that even if sometimes you feel what you have to share isn't quite 'news-worthy or different enough' from all the other bloggers, it's made a difference in my life. So I thank you. Have a blessed day, and know that if you follow your heart and ask the Lord in Prayer, He will help you make the best decision for all concerned. Thank you for sharing, Karla

    1. Hi Karla! I truly do appreciate your kind words. To be honest, sometimes (living in the area we live) I wish I WAS in the "middle of nowhere"!! : ) We all need to "bloom where we are planted" don't we? It can be a challenge. I, too, like reading blogposts from those who are so willing to share their lives and how they attend to things. I'm really humbled to think that my little post might be something that someone would want to read.....so, thank you, again, for letting me know. I guess maybe I need a little encouragement too!!! : ) And you gave that. I'm grateful. I feel like the Lord is giving me His answer to this decision through all the women, like you, who have left comments. I'm beginning to, once again, write a few ideas down. : ) God's blessings be yours for the rest of this day and the upcoming weekend!!! Mary S.

  5. I'm so glad there are still homemakers writing about homemaking online. There used to be so many homemaking blogs, but many have disappeared over the years. Sadly, I think a lot of that has gone to social media, where not much thought goes into what is said or posted (not always the case, but I've found, often is). Whatever you decide, it's a blessing to be able to encourage each other in our homemaking duties, to the Lord's glory.

    1. Hello! I, too, appreciate other women sharing their homes and how they tend to them. I don't look at any social media so blogposts are the only way for me! : ) The verse "do your work as unto the Lord" does come to my mind quite often and I agree with you as to do it to glorify the Lord. Our blogs CAN do that. : ) Thank you so much for leaving a comment - I appreciate it. God bless your day. Mary
