HAPPY 1ST DAY OF SPRING!

Looking forward to this.  : )

We're having some mild, melty days here (finally).  We even have little plants on the south side of the house popping their pretty little heads up.  And the sun - it's staying up later and later (now I'm looking forward to it coming up earlier!).  Nice, nice, nice.  That's all I have to say.  : )

I've been on a little blog break.  I have to admit that I found a couple things on my traffic that were VERY discouraging to me (and that's putting it mildly).  At one point, I felt like taking my blog off completely because of it.   But I have reported it and will continue to do so if I see any more.  The stuff of this world is SO evil.  How some people can look themselves in the mirror or sleep at night is beyond me.  But like in one of the Bible studies we're doing - if these people don't believe in a God that they have to give an account to then why should they care if they're evil?  Nothing matters to them.

But now for something bright.  It's SPRING!  And I think thoughts turn towards Spring cleaning.  I'm actually looking forward to it.  One reason for trying to keep up with the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning is that the deep cleaning in the Spring doesn't have to be too major.  What I'm really excited about is getting to all the windows and floors.  The windows have been so rained and snowed on that when the sun comes through - ick!  And with all the snow and dirt and salt we've been bringing in, the floors are due for a real scrub.

And then cooking and baking.  I've already posted on this so I won't go any further.  But I'm also looking forward to that.

If you have children in your life, sometimes zoos and family farms have baby animals for the youngins' to look at.  SO cute.  Also, there will probably be flower shows going on somewhere to go to and walk through and smell!  You might consider buying kites and find an open area to fly them (for us, it would have to not have snow).   And we're marching toward Easter - you can plan ahead for that.  Do something different and fun after the long winter months.  Something light and bright.  : )

That's it for today - got other things to do!!!!  Thank you SO much for dropping by for a visit - I still do appreciate it!   God bless.

  1. Good Morning Mary,
So pleased to hear that you are at last getting a welcome reprieve from the harshness of the weather these past few months. Isn’t it such a welcome sight to see the flowers begin to peek out of the ground again?

I am sorry you have been having issues with some of the web traffic on your feed. Unfortunately, I have seen this happen to other bloggers as well, and truly it is very disturbing. I can only say that I hope you will not let these few “bad apples” spoil what is such a lovely and uplifting place to visit.

I began my “Spring Clean” several weeks ago, and like you, because so many things are tidied regularly, it makes things easier. Does it feel wonderful though, when we can see the results of our efforts! My next project is our walk in closet, but that will need to wait a few days yet ;-)

    Have a lovely weekend, Mary..

    Blessings,
    Christine xx

    1. Thank you, Christine. I was VERY discouraged earlier this week because of what I found. I have been praying as to whether or not to continue - I don't want them to have an "in" through my blog so it's discouraging for me.

I hope you will be VERY careful in your Spring cleaning!!!! I hope you are feeling better and stronger. Thank you for commenting and have a wonderful upcoming weekend.

      God bless,
      Mary

  2. Unfortunately there will always be the haters and villains. Thankful for the delete key : ) But it is upsetting to receive. Shows you have a conscience and they don't. Don't give up and stop, because then they win! We need blogs like yours! I was just looking at how VERY dirty my windows are before I read this. It's my goal for Sat morning, plus decorating for Easter. I just threw a fit because the cat threw up; I'm putting away groceries, my husband is trying to get out the door, the phone rings, someone comes to the door, then the cats come in and are underfoot, whining for more food, and one threw up in several places. My son actually cleaned it up for the first time ever! He's really growing up. So I thought I'd finally get around to opening your e-mail - read calming thoughts. And then I think, why am I upset about cat throw-up? And I realize it's not about that at all...we are grieving the loss of my cousin and my 99 year old childhood minister, as well as it being the 3rd anniversary of my dad's death, so my emotions are running high. I need to finish up my computer task and then get back to calm homemaking and make lunch! Blessings to you, Mary (and Christine)! Janine

    1. Hi Janine - if was just a matter of deleting I could handle that, but I have to actually check my traffic feed and see if there are indecent sites and then report it which is very difficult for me because I have to actually see what these sites are - and it's porn. I don't know how long it's been going on and I feel bad that I didn't notice until now. So, I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't really want to give up on blogging because I do enjoy it, but I never want to be used as a way of someone to view this awful stuff.

I hear you about the cat!!! We used to be a cat family and the worse thing for me was to hear him throw up during the night not knowing where it was and afraid to step in it in the dark!!!!!! I miss having a kitty around but I don't miss that at all. :o

I'm so sorry that it's such a difficult time for you right now with all the emotions of death and the anniversary of a death. Won't it be wonderful when there is no more death, no more tears, no more pain? Come Lord Jesus!!!!!! : )

Thank you for dropping in Janine! God bless. Mary

  3. Oh Janine, I’m sorry you’re having such a tough time of it, and I think it’s very astute of you to realise where your emotions are truly stemming from. I hope your wee cat is better soon.

Mary, I hadn’t realised the seriousness of the situation with your feed, but I can say I’ve never seen anything untoward relating to it, in my searches of it. Perhaps there is something Blogger can do to prevent it? I wish I could help, but I’m still struggling just to add pictures correctly to mine!

    Blessings,
    Christine xx

    1. Thank you, Christine! Thankfully, Blogger HAS taken one of those sites off the feed so I think they must be good at dealing with stuff like this. Technology certainly has it's negatives!!!!!!
