Menus

Love vintage cookbooks.  : )


Been busy in the kitchen today.  Here is what's cookin' in our home this week:

Tonight:  Turkey Quesadillas with peppers, onions, and cheese, tortilla chips & salsa
(we were going to have turkey noodle soup tonight but I made that for lunch instead)

Wednesday:  Turkey Pot Pie (that should use up the turkey!), green salad, fresh orange slices

Thursday:  Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup, fresh baked bread with jam

Friday:  Slow Cooker ribs (saw this on a favorite cooking show Saturday - just have to try it!),  slow cooker baked potatoes, slow cooker corn-on-cob

Saturday:  a take-out day - preparing food for Mother's Day

Sunday:  Mother's Day! - serving marinated chicken wings, pasta salad, twice-baked potatoes, cupcakes and ice cream

Monday:  Grilled cheese with homemade tomato soup, apple slices

Tuesday:  Spaghetti w/meatless pasta sauce, green salad, orange slices

Wednesday:  Waffles, bacon, pineapple chunks

*Made more bread this morning in the bread machine for sandwiches this week.
*I just took the breakfast granola out of the oven for this week.
*I need to go back into the kitchen to make the pie crusts for tomorrow's turkey pot pie.
*I chose a new baked donut recipe for "Donut Wednesday" tomorrow.  : )
*And, above, when I mentioned ice cream for Mother's Day I want to try the no-churn vanilla recipe I found as well.  : )

If any of the new recipes I try turn out, I will definitely share them with you!  I just have to remember to put the camera in the kitchen so I can take photos.

Well, I had better get back to it.  I feel good about cooking from scratch but it does take more time -but I think it's time well spent.  Thank you for your visit - I truly enjoy it when you stop by.  God bless.
